Elk Rescue

An older story but one worth repeating. At the Pocatello (Idaho) Zoo, an elk rescues a marmot who is drowning in his water trough. This is a notable story, as it shows intelligence and compassion in an animal normally just considered a hunting target. Even the elk’s name–“Shooter”–is hunting slang for a trophy animal.
