That’s a New Word for It

First there was “beak conditioning.” Now there’s “slaughterhouse euthanasia.” You have to hand it to them, the poultry industry PR people have a way with words.

Hundreds of chickens were killed Tuesday when a truck flipped while carrying 5,000 chickens bound for the Foster Farms slaughterhouse in Washington State.

Hundreds of chickens were crushed and killed under the weight of the flipped semi while many more were severely injured.  Multiple news sources are reporting that the injured birds were taken to the slaughterhouse “to be euthanized.”
