BOOK REVIEW: Love Me, Love My Broccoli

Love Me, Love My Broccoli (An Avon Camelot Book)

Love Me, Love my Broccoli is an entertaining YA fiction book that will be especially welcomed by middle-to-junior high school aged vegetarians.

The young heroine falls hard for a handsome jock who doesn’t share her values regarding animal rights. She is placed on the spot when he asks her to choose between him and standing up for her beliefs. This is an-all-too common situation that students will likely relate to. Happily, the book has an affirming, positive ending.

Broccoli will find a spot on the YA shelves in public and school libraries. Its positive message about staying true to one’s self will be welcomed by humane educators as well.
